A road safety week under the condition of "Pedestrians, please be careful!" will be held between 5-11 may in the territory of the Republic

As the rapid growth in the number of vehicles led to an increase in traffic volume in the Republic, it makes necessary to take additional measures to prevent future traffic accidents, in particular in the field of protection of  life and health of pedestrians. According to the statistics, road accidents involving pedestrians, recorded during the first 3 months of current year takes 42% of total accidents over the country and 52% of those happened in Baku. Analysis shows that, in most cases these accidents happens as fault of pedestrians along with drivers. Therefore, a road safety week under the condition of "Pedestrians, please be careful!" will be held between 5-11 may in accordance with the relevant order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to prevent road accidents involving pedestrians, to strengthen discipline among traffic participants, in particular among pedestrians. It is planned to conduct regular raids and   strengthen propaganda broadcasts for this purpose, as well as to conduct educational seminars in educational institutions and among labor collectives in order to take specific preventive measures and to prevent violation of traffic rules by pedestrians after investigating the reasons for traffic accidents involving pedestrians at the service areas within one week. To this end, Ministry of Internal Affairs Main State Traffic Police Department invites all traffic participants, in particular pedestrians to behave exemplary during the week.
