Vehicle registration signs
A vehicle state registration sign is a special plate, distinguishing each vehicle in traffic within the territory or beyond the borders of Azerbaijan Republic, fixed on places defined at their front and back parts (and only at back parts of motocycles, tractors and trailers). In Azerbaijan Republic, a vehicle state registration sign is made up using Arabic figures and capital letters of the Latin alphabet.When record-keeping of a vehicle is implemented by state registration, a state registration sign is issued to a vehicle owner by a body provided in the second part of the article No.27 of the Law “On Road Traffic”. A fee is paid in the amount set by the legislation of Azerbaijan Republic for issuing a vehicle state registration sign.
While implementing record-keeping of a vehicle by repeat state registration, at a vehicle owner’s desire, when a vehicle state registration sign is lost or falls into an unfit state as well, a vehicle state registration sign is replaced in the manner provided in the second part of this article. When a state registration sign is lost, its owner or other person, entitled to give an order, presents a due reference of a relevant executive body in the territory on loss of the previous state registration sign.
