Appeal of the Main State Traffic Police Department of the MIA to the population regarding rainy and windy weather
06.05.2022According to the information given by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, rainy weather is expected in the country until the end of the first decade of May, with strong winds in some places.
In order to prevent traffic accidents and other unpleasant situations that may occur on the roads, the Main State Traffic Police Department of the MIA appeals to road users and ask them to be careful when departing, to follow traffic rules and to be polite to other road users.
As wet road surface increases the likelihood of landslides in rainy weather, drivers must maintain sufficient distance, minimize speed limits, be careful when overtaking and maneuvering, taking into account road and meteorological conditions, as well as keep state registration plates of vehicles clean, use windshield wipers and washers, make sure that the lighting devices are in good condition.
In addition, drivers are advised to park vehicles away from light and temporary structures, buildings and billboards, and not to stand near or under electric poles and wires, tall trees, or other objects that may fall or break in areas where strong winds blow.
Pedestrians, who are the most unprotected road users, in turn, must be careful, and not cross the road on the part not intended for their movement, and refrain from behaviors that endanger the lives and health of themselves and other road users.
